On the first morning of our journey toward 2025, we escorted two esteemed scholars to the College of Business in two separate groups. Our first stop was a visit with Dean Huang Chi-Jui of the College of Business. We were honored to welcome Dr. John W. Creswell and Dr. Justine P. Wu from the University of Michigan.
We exchanged insights on academic developments in Taiwan, the United States, and Japan. Although Dr. Wu, who is of Taiwanese descent, was not raised in Taiwan, her fluency in Mandarin and familiarity with Taiwan were strikingly natural.
Today’s discussion centered not on medicine, but on their expertise in Mixed Methods Research (MMR). Dr. Creswell, the author of 34 books—each one a global classroom staple—was a living embodiment of the textbooks we study, truly an awe-inspiring experience. Both Dr. Creswell and Dr. Wu are key pioneers in the development of MMR programs.
