I. Purpose
The competition aims to foster a health-promoting society through the application of smart technologies. By combining students’ creative ideas with healthcare needs and technological resources, the event encourages the development of innovative project proposals. These proposals are intended to enhance students’ awareness of healthcare demands in an aging society, break through traditional thinking frameworks, cultivate teamwork and entrepreneurial spirit, and ultimately build a health-friendly environment for smart healthcare in Taiwan.
II. Eligibility
Participants must be current students from public and private technical and vocational colleges and universities nationwide (including master’s and doctoral students, undergraduates, fourth-year students of five-year junior colleges, and second-year students of two-year junior colleges).
- Teams must consist of 3 to 5 members, with each student allowed to join only one team.
- Each team must designate a team leader as the contact person.
- Each team must have at least one faculty advisor (maximum of two), who will not be counted toward the total number of team members.
III. Competition Themes
- Smart Technology Category:
Centered on smart technologies, this category focuses on applications such as the Internet of Things (IoT), smart technology, and big data analytics. Participants are required to propose innovative business models that address the needs of an aging society. Proposals may take the form of business models, apps, or products. - Healthcare Category:
In response to the trend of an aging population, this category focuses on areas such as health promotion, healthcare industries, long-term care, and speech therapy/hearing impairment. Participants are encouraged to integrate innovative technologies into holistic smart healthcare solutions to improve the quality of life for the elderly. Proposals may be presented as business models, apps, or products.
IV. Competition Format
The 2022 National Health Technology Innovation and Creativity Competition will be conducted in two stages:
- Preliminary Round: Based primarily on written proposal reviews.
- Final Round: Involves on-site presentations and Q&A sessions. Details regarding presentation and Q&A procedures will be announced separately.
